A wise friend once told me that "hard work comes from ambition; ambition is born from dreams".
I was determined to study at The University of Sydney because I wanted to graduate from the best university in Australia. Upon completing 6 years of university, I had a degree in Psychology & Philosophy and a Masters in Rehabilitation Counselling. I started my career as a Counsellor working at CRS Australia, formally known as the Commonwealth Rehabilitation Service. I have helped many people with a disability, injury or health condition return to work and live meaningful lives by addressing their clinical and physical barriers.
5 years on, upon proving myself as an experienced Counsellor nationally, working hard and willing to do the work that others are not, I have earned the position of Assistant Director at one of Australia's most respected Government departments.
In preparation of starting my new role tomorrow, my boyfriend surprised me with a Tiffany & Co necklace.
Although hard work will bring you success and great accomplishments professionally, I would have never imagined that I would find the love of my life while studying in the library. I am so blessed that it makes him so happy to see the look on my face when he surprises me when I least expect it.
What a wonderful thought it is that some of the best moments of our lives haven't happened yet!
